About the Workshop

Our resident English instructor Steve will be giving a workshop on the features of academic writing which are expected to be used by all students at UK universities.  The content of the workshop will include: the differences between IELTS writing and features of academic writing at UK universities; general rules about what you should and should not include in your academic writing; and exercises and practice to help you develop your academic writing.  This is a two-hour workshop with limited availability so book your place now.

About Steve

Originally from California, Steve is a graduate from the University Of Glasgow where he received his Masters in TESOL.  His Masters dissertation ‘Reading Strategies in an EFL Context: A Mixed Methods Research Synthesis’ [https://englishagenda.britishcouncil.org/sites/default/files/attachments/steven_bedle_university_of_glasgow_dissertation.pdf] was a finalist in the British Council’s 2017-2018 Masters Dissertation Award.  Steve has many years of international teaching experience including in the USA, Spain, The Czech Republic, Indonesia and here in Scotland.
