Residents are required to complete a check-in form prior to arrival to ensure everything is prepared for your arrival. 

Welcome and thank you for choosing Chapter. We look forward to welcoming you to your new home and to make your check-in experience quicker when you arrive at your Chapter residence we will require you to complete the check-in form. 

Our teams at Reception are available between 09:00-20:00, if you are checking-in outside of these times our night security team will be available to provide your room key.

POST DISCLAIMER

Any items delivered by courier that are too large to fit in the post box or that are recorded/special delivery will be received by the team at Reception. On collecting you parcel please show your photo ID to Reception.  

*In providing this service, we cannot take responsibility for loss or damage to any packages. We also reserve the right to decline any delivery. N.B: If you order fresh food, please ensure you are at home to receive your delivery.   

COUNCIL TAX EXEMPTION FORM

As you are living with us and are exempt from paying council tax during you stay, you will need to provide a copy of your exemption certificate after you move in.  You will be given this form during your first week at University. Please bring it to Reception once you’ve received it; we will photocopy it and ensure it is kept on file. 

FIRE SAFETY

Your safety is the most important thing to us. When you check-in a member of the team on-site will explain the following to you:
  • How to raise the alarm if you think there might be a fire
  • What the fire alarms sounds like in your community
  • What to do if you hear the fire alarm
  • Where the fire exits and assembly point are

You will find more information in the Resident Handbook on the portal. Please make sure you read and understand the arrangements for your community and ask a team member if you have any questions. 

COLLECTING YOUR KEYS

When you check-in you will be issued with your relevant keys including:
  • Member Card Key Card /Fob (to access your room) 
  • Post Room Key  (to access your mailbox for letters)
  • Laundry Card (if you are using the self-service laundry facilities)              

Should you misplace any of your keys the replacement costs during your stay are as follows:
  • Member Card/Room Key/Card/Fob - £25 
  • Post Room Key - £10 
  • Laundry Card - £10
Please note. These costs are approximate and changeable for each Chapter. Please speak to the team at Reception for accurate charges for your residence.  

Fitness Facilities

All residents must complete an induction form in order to gain access to the gym in your Chapter property.

Residents must agree to abide by the Terms and Conditions of Use at all times. 
  • The Management reserves the right to terminate membership use for breach of the rules, or conduct, which in the managements’ opinion, is damaging to the character or interests of the fitness centre or offensive to other members of staff. 
  • Residents must advise staff of any personal, current disability such as blindness, deafness, heart condition, epilepsy and other conditions etc. prior to using the facilities so that they help to avoid accidents, injuries or misadventures to themselves and others. 
  • Whilst using the gym facilities all residents accept responsibility for their state of health and physical condition. 
  • All residents are expected and required to use the equipment in the manner as indicated on the guidance notes, available in the gym. 
  • Residents’ behaviour in the gym must not constitute a security or safety hazard to themselves or others in the gym. Residents found to be engaging in inappropriate behaviour will be removed from the facility, with their access revoked. 
  • The management reserves the right at any time to withdraw all or any part of the gym facilities for any period or periods where and when it may be deemed necessary for repair, maintenance, alteration or for safety reasons or alternative use. 
  • In the interest of safety, no person under 18 years is admitted to the fitness facilities. 
  • All equipment has been designed and tested to be safe with correct use.  
  • Residents are asked to dress appropriately and maintain the standard of the gym. 
  • Residents are required to wear appropriate clothing and footwear at all times.  
  • Residents must use a training towel at all times and wipe down machines after use.  
  • Should you damage any equipment then you will be liable to the costs of rectification and replacement.

By using the fitness facility you accept the terms and conditions stated above and that the answers provided about your health are correct and accurate. You fully understand that you will be using the facilities at your own risk and waive any legal recourse for damages to yourself or the property.
